This residence, dedicated to the care of Geriatric patients, is a private centre. IWCA has been helping them for the last 25 years. The centre is comprised of 24-48 residents, assisted by nurses and a doctor who checks on each one of them. They are well looked after and have the option to sit in the garden when weather permits.
Three or four times a year, IWCA, provide them with a lovely merienda and the company of some of our volunteers. At the start of the new year, we bring them Roscon to celebrate the start of the year. During the second visit, around March/April, we treat them to a lovely traditional Spanish merienda, "Chocolate and Churro's". As the summer approaches, to beat the heat, we bring them a treat -horchata with croissant and finally in December, we provide them a special Christmas snack and a gift for each of them.
At every visit we see joy or sorrow in their faces. We have a lovely group of volunteers who genuinely look forward to visiting them on these occasions, where we play music, dance with them and try to make it a really memorable visit.
