Lal Sai Vidya Mandir is a small school in Bhopal, established in 1991 by Sindhi Vidya Vikas Samiti under the guidance of Dadi Gopi.
The school's mission is to provide children from low-income communities with a high-quality education, enabling them to maximize their potential and transform their lives.
Initially, IWCA was approached to help girls from underprivileged households. Their parents could not afford to pay for their education and preferred them working in houses to support their families.
In 2014, we sponsored 10 girls which enabled them to successfully complete their final academic year. We continue to sponsor girls for the school year. Our members pay Rs. 5000 per child which covers the education fee, uniform, and books for an academic year.
IWCA has helped by making arrangements for 400 sweaters for the winter. One classroom has been furnished by the funds donated. In addition, we have managed to install a water cooler in the school to provide potable water for the students and staff. This was essential to them as clean, drinkable water is a a precious resource specially in developing countries like India.
